As I grow, and as I change

There’s a song that God has brought back to my mind and heart during these days at debrief, here in Colombia. I’ve been singing it for years. I really love how God speaks to us in different ways. In my case, He very much speaks to me through songs and during times of worship in various forms. As I’m still on this journey on the Race, I wanted to share the song!! It’s called Hidden by United Pursuit:

There was One when I was young
Who knew my heart
He knew my sorrow
He held my hand
And He led me to trust Him

Now I am hidden
In the safety of Your love
I trust Your heart and Your intentions
Trust You completely
I’m listening intently
You’ll guide me through these many shadows
As I grow
And as I change
May I love You more deeply
I will lean upon Your grace
I will weep because Your goodness is unending

You are my vision

My reason for living
Your kindness leads me to repentance
I can’t explain it
This sweet assurance
But I’ve never known this kind of friend
I can’t explain it
This sweet assurance
But I’ve never known this kind of friend

The sun, moon, and stars
Shout Your name
They give You reverence
And I will do the same
With all my heart I give You glory

I want to seek You first
I want to love You more
I want to give You the honor You deserve
So I bow before You
I am overcome by the beauty of this perfect love

Now I am hidden
In the safety of Your love
I trust Your heart and Your intentions
Trust You completely
I’m listening intently
You’ll guide me through these many shadows

I love so many things about this song!!! I love that I can sing this song in different seasons in my life, and meditate on how God has grown me. He has strengthened me, grown me in my trust, has allowed me to experience more of His love, compassion, and mercy. I’ve failed at times, but I have also sought Him out in the hard, and He has been faithful at all times. My prayer for us all:
That as we grow and change, that we may love Him more deeply; that we 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:18-19)

Until next time,
