My Sabbath: restored by the Lord of… pt. 2

To be restored by the Lord of the Sabbath—

It was an act of God seeing this sweet girl today, and spending time with the rest of the children.

Doesn’t He know what I need better than I do? Isn’t He the Lord of the Sabbath? He really restores us continuously when we stretch out our hand to receive what He gives… freely.

Right after the hangout time with the children, God brought me to scripture and had me think of how the Pharisees, with their religious mindset and lifestyle, wanted to plot against Jesus because He did miracles on the Sabbath and broke a religious rule according to the Pharisees’ interpretation of the law.

And then Jesus was like, well,

  • I’m actually the Lord of the Sabbath, and
  • I hold ALL authority.
  • I will do the will of my Father, and
  • I will restore the withered hand of this man.

I’m paraphrasing but you can find it all here in Luke 6:1-11, and man, how amazing is that!!!

Jesus walked in God’s wisdom and was led by Holy SpiritHe didn’t give in to His flesh even if it did make sense, humanly speaking. It “made sense”, humanly speaking, to lock myself in my room, and ignore the children’s’ arrival and say, “I can’t deal with kids right now, I gotta rest… I gotta put myself first.”

The Father was so clear with me that He had sent those children our way.Walking in His wisdom and allowing Him to lead me was such a beautiful invitation.

Luke 6:8-10 And he (Jesus) said to the man with the withered hand, “Come and stand here.” And he rose and stood there. (:8). “Stretch out your hand.” And he did so, and his hand was restored (:10).

Receiving restoration. Wow. Believers have eternal access to this restoration. His rest has been present for me all of these days, even on my low lows and high highs. My Lord is the Lord of the Sabbath, and I will stay under His incredible leadership.

Believers receive true rest, true restoration from their Lord, and so, all false ideas, all religiousness, and selfishness, fall away. Doesn’t He know what you need better than you do? Isn’t He the Lord of the Sabbath

With mucho amor (much love),
