     Fuego Fresco //
Las fuegitas

Katy, Amber, me (Janice), Bliz,
Stephanie, and Ellie

I’ve been in my new team since the last weeks of Costa Rica, and we’re called Fuego Fresco. And the other team include 2 awesome men and 5 incredible woman, and we could say it is ironic, but their team name is Fresh Fire.

Drake, Zaiah, Annie, Paiton, Kristin, Lauren, and Hanna

I think that most of us on the squad haven’t put too much thought into it as it was pretty shocking… but the thing is, we never exchanged ideas or talked amongst each other as a squad or individually about team names. We kept it all between our teams.

Holy Spirit spoke the same name over us, and we said “yes!” I love being spirit-led, and I love being with a squad that let themselves be led by Holy Spirit too.

Also, meet our new squad leaders:

Lucas and Hannah (Zim)

What does Fresh Fire/Fuego Fresco mean to me? The word that comes to mind is: new.

There is a song that we really like called New Wine by Hillsong that our alumni squad leader (Josiah) introduced to us, which was very special to him during his Race.

When we were worshipping at debrief in Costa Rica a day or 2 after our team-name(s) reveal, God revealed so much to me when we sang this part of New Wine:

‘Cause where there is new wine
There is new power
There is new freedom
And the Kingdom is here
I lay down my old flames
to carry your new fire today

Wow y’all. First, living for Jesus is the best. On top of being saved, we get to adventure with Him and grow in so many ways… we get to understand the depth of spiritual truths that we could have never understood when we were living in darkness

The revelation as to why He named us Fresh Fire: He wants to use our squad to bring new freedom, new and fresh revelation, new power amongst ourselves as a squad, and those we encounter.

Mark 2:22 But new wine is for fresh
wineskins.”

There is more He wants to reveal, more freedom He wants to pour over us like honey, and more power He wants us to become aware of. In receiving new wine, there will be new fire… fresh fire.

There is so much He is doing here in Colombia, and I’m excited for my squad and I to share more of what fresh and new fire He is bringing through us. Stay tuned, I love you guys. <3

Until next time,
