We’ve been in Heidelberg, South Africa (S.A.) for over 2 weeks and it has been a blast!!! There hasn’t been a day that has gone by that we haven’t been experiencing South Africa in new ways.
MINISTRY
We’ve been partnering with Langeberg Christian Fellowship and Heidelberg Christian School,
Our host, Pastor Phil and his sweet wife, Tanya, have been incredible. We live right next door to them, and Jonathan, the maintenance manager of the church, lives with us.
This is how ministry has looked like for these past weeks!!!! We:
- started and finished painting the closet in the baby room, and started and finished organizing the baby room
- we’ve been painting the outside school building
- and we have been sanding and wood staining the school deck, the pillars, and doors, and more!
It seems like we’ll be done in a few more days, and I hear we’ll be doing other projects!
With the new Covid regulations due to a spike in Covid cases here in S.A., the school has be closed for a few weeks, and the church will be meeting again after the mandate has been lifted. Every single one of us from our squad is sharing words of encouragement during the course of these weeks on the Langeberg church’s radio station. How cool is that?!
Praise: we’re so thankful that we can do the work of the Lord and partner with our fellow brothers and sisters here in Heidelberg!
Prayer: for a brother from the church that is recovering from severe burns from an accident weeks ago, and for his wife and daughter, for lots of strength and peace. Also, that the school may open up soon and that we may be able to meet some of the students, and the babies!!! That we may use our spiritual gifts for the edification of the church (1 Corinthians 14:12) and let Holy Spirit guide us in everything.
