Update on: Ministry, my goal and prayer request

UPDATE: but first,

Is there any way to not think, mentally prepare, and plan ahead when you have information of what will happen next? I still have 3 weeks left in Colombia and before you know it, we will be going to South…

…Africa!

Yes, SOUTH AFRICA!!! WHOOHOOO! My team and I got info about how ministry will look like there, and we won’t have wifi for a good amount of time. So, I have a…

GOAL!

There is so much more to share about ministry here in Colombia, about doing life in community, and the experience of growing in my intimacy with God.

So, my goal is to tell y’all about that and a few other things:

  • about my experience as I inherited the role of interpreter for about 6 months in Spanish-speaking countries
  • what it has been like and also my thoughts being one of the worship coordinators in my squad,
  • and any revelations or memories/stories from different months on the Race

//My goal and prayer is to have the mental capacity to convert these stories into as many blogs as I can before I leave to South Africa. I don’t like overbearing anyone with too many blogs, but if I wont be posting for a long time, I would rather post a lot right now, than none for awhile, and then having to catch up.//

PRAYER REQUESTS,

with context first:

We will be leaving Cuidad Refugio (C.R.) next Monday (June 21st), and will be entering into our first ATL WEEK, ever! ATL means “Ask the Lord”.

My team and I will be asking the Lord where and how He wants ministry to look like for us. Every Friday for the past weeks here in Cuidad Refugio we have done ATL afternoon’s, which have been really sweet. Completely depending on Holy Spirit to guide us on who to talk to, where to go, and what to do, is uncomfortable yet exhilarating.

The hype is real! Anyway, leaving C.R. will be hard, and this last week here will involve cool things that we’ve been doing for these past weeks, such as:

  • planning ministry which involves,
  • doing house visits,
  • elderly home visits,
  • park evangelism,
  • Agua Panela (outreach),
  • going to The Bronx (outreach),
  • women’s ministry,
  • youth ministry, and…
  • if I went into detail about all of those ministries and the other things we do, this would be a long blog!

Cuidad Refugio is doing such amazing work here, and we have loved partnering with them to expand God’s Kingdom. I’ll be telling you guys about Agua Panela, The Bronx and more soon! Now to the prayer request:

Please pray for my team and I. We have God’s strength, but please pray for an over-pouring of more strength. That our cup’s may not run dry as we may grow emotionallymentally, and physically tired. We are also going to the Lord in our reflection and processing of our time on this journey as it is coming to an end. This in itself has involved going to God for spiritual, emotional, and mental strength. We want to enjoy and end our time with Cuidad Refugio strong, with a fervent, strong fire to continue! We want to go into ATL whole-heartedly, and with great expectancy, and joy.

Until next time,

J
