Thank-be to the Son of God for turning my fear and worry into great excitement and expectation! His kindness in reminding me through His Word and through the body of Christ that I am to be anxious over nothing has brought me so much peace and strength.
Philippians 4:6-8 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Wow, the peace of God will guard my heart and mind, even and especially in the most difficult situations!
My friends, I believe we are all aware of the coronavirus outbreak and of the precautions we are all to take not only for our health and safety, but for one another. I’ll be honest and say that fear and worry took over for a little bit this week, but God reminded me of who He is and what He commands of his believers.
My World Race mission trip is still on for October 2020 and I am still preparing for it! Why? Truthfully, there are 7 months left until I am to leave, and there is no telling what is to happen just yet. I do want you to know that our organization, Adventures in Missions, is monitoring and doing extensive research, keeping our group of missionaries and I updated on decisions that could be made for our trip in regards to our health and safety! I’m so encouraged with how Adventures in Missions is responding to this pandemic; God is so good!
I thought it would be encouraging to mention the verses that have encouraged me through these past weeks in which I’ve been reminded by the Holy Spirit to hold on to this truth: that God is good and that His plan is perfect.
The Bible says that I am to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7)! God holds my future in His hands, and when I walk by faith, I walk with my eyes on Jesus, the Author, and Perfecter of my faith (Hebrews 12:2). Am I to cease hoping and working towards this plan for missions?! If it’s what God has planned, will He not finish the good work he began?
In every life-situation, let us rest assured that: God is all-powerful and all-knowing, and that His plan truly is p-e-r-f-e-c-t. According to dictionaries, perfect means, “being entirely without fault or defect”, and “having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be.”
The Creator of heaven and earth is entirely without defect; I repeat, entirely without defect. He also has the best qualities, and characteristics because that is who He is.
Oooo, a great T-shirt logo idea: …and so because God was perfect by nature, so were His plans.
My friends, in holding on to this truth, let us unite in prayer, asking God to give us His wisdom and peace in every life-situation, especially in this difficult one with our current pandemic. Let us pray. There is so much to pray about in relation to the coronavirus and how it’s been a chain reaction. Many are having to adjust to a new way of life in so many aspects right now, including me. I am praying that God may grant wisdom, consolation for those who’ve lost loved ones, protection, for countries to be loving and responsible during this outbreak and oh, so much more.
No matter what is to happen, may we be anxious over nothing; may we hold on to the truth that God is good and that His plans are perfect.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for being who You are and in turning this fear and worry to great excitement and expectation in Jesus’ name, Amen.
My friends, thank you for reading and I pray this was of great encouragement for you… see ya soon!
With much love,
J<3
