During this time in South Africa, the word “spoke” has been highlighted to me by God, and so, I’ve been meditating on the act of God speaking.
We see it as normal for people to speak, but we see it as supernatural for God to speak. Don’t get me wrong though! It is a supernatural thing, but shouldn’t it be a normal occurrence as sons and daughters of God to be spoken to by Him?
I think these thoughts started days afterwards when I was prayed over by a man of God I had never met until July 8th. Knowing that God speaks through His people to speak truth… it was really interesting what was prophesied/spoken over me. Everything spoken is accurate to my life and internal struggles, and I didn’t think I needed to hear it.
He speaks to us in cool ways:
- through His Word,
- in conversations with Him (out loud or in our minds)
- in our dreams,
- through our brothers and sisters in the faith…
I mean, guys, HOW COOL IS THAT??
To be spoken to,
To be spoken over.
To be imparted words of and from the actual Creator of heaven and earth is such a GIFT!!!!!
While spending time with Him during these past days, He took me to the passages found below and was speaking to me about many things. In that, He highlighted these verses to me, and I’m just like, ”whoa….”
John 15:2-3 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.
John 4:25-26 25 The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things.” 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he.”
Luke 8:7-8 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it. 8 And some fell into good soil and grew and yielded a hundredfold.” As he said these things, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
The act of God speaking is something that I encourage myself and everyone to treasure more and more. His sons and daughters have complete access to this sweet friendship with God— to be spoken to, to be given words of wisdom, words of truth in love, alllllll the time.
Thanks for reading! If you’d like to read what was spoken over me, you can read up on God speaks: accepting it pt.2

Yes!! We have a God that speaks and that WANTS to be in relationship with us. It’s one of the greatest blessings we have; thank you for this sweet reminder!
